Jane Bawel

I am Janie Bawel, a lifelong DuPage County resident. I was diagnosed with Non Hodgkin's Lymphoma in 2005. I have been undergoing treatments since the fall of 2005, and required a stem cell transplant to save my life. I was blessed to receive my transplant in March of 2007.

Cancer is a life changing illness, emotionally, physically and financially. Upon hearing of my diagnosis, a wonderful group of friends decided to organize and hold a benefit motorcycle ride / event for me to help cover the cost of treatment and other financial needs that are associated with long term cancer care.

This ride was held on May 6, 2007, and drew over 500 motorcycles and more than 700 participants. It was called RIDE JANIE RIDE. My husband Brandon and I want to pay it forward. Along with the organizers of the inaugural ride, we have formed the RIDE JANIE RIDE Foundation a licensed Not for Profit 501(C)(3). We are unique in that we are a 100% volunteer organization and we return all of the monies raised to recipient individuals/families within our local communities. With your help we can give the support to other community residents who are facing the emotional, physical and financial burden that cancer brings to them.
