Given an immense mountain of downsides during these unprecedented times, the board of the Ride Janie Ride Foundation has decided to cancel our 2020 cancer benefit ride. We were faced with circumstances of liability from both our launch site and our ending venue which contributed to our decision. Ride Janie Ride has always put the health and well-being of our families and participants at the highest level. We simply cannot ensure to our participants that the venues would be safe for all to attend.
We will be producing a Ride Janie Ride 2020 "no ride" shirt to showcase our corporate sponsors and personal sponsors. We will be announcing a “Ride Day Shirt Pickup” event set for August 9th….so stay tuned.
We want to give a huge shout out to our corporate and personal sponsors who have generously donated to our foundation this year. Those funds went directly to our recipient families. God bless you all for enabling us to help those in need. No one is more disappointed than the organizers and volunteers of this event. We have to be realistic and ensure that our good name and the health of our families are preserved for future events and gatherings.
If you have pre-registered for Ride Janie Ride and would like a refund, please reach out to us and we’ll take care of you. If you’d like to use that registration as a donation, we’ll be sure to have your T-Shirt waiting for you for pickup.
We thank you for your many years of support. If you have any questions or concerns, please reach out to us via FaceBook or email at rjr@RideJanieRide.org
For over a decade, the Ride Janie Ride Foundation has been bringing the community together for one common goal; to pay it forward. What started as a way help to alleviate the financial burden of cancer treatments for our dear friend Janie Bawel, grew into an experience much larger than any of us could have imagined. The annual event takes place on the first Sunday in May when thousands of participants come together to raise funds for nominiated recipients.
Since 2007, the Ride Janie Ride Foundation has benefited 65 recipients battling various types of cancer. To nominate an individual in need, please visit our Nomination page.
